Is Coffee Good For Your Skin?

Coffee. The bean from the gods. Well, I might be exaggerating….just a little hee-hee! I first fell in love with this caffeinated concoction after I had my now 7-year old. Being a full-time working, single mom of one, you learn you need something to get you through the day and night.

This post is about putting coffee on your skin. Say, whaaaat?! Pour yourself a cup of hot java and read on.

The Coffee Scrub in Mocha

I recently subscribed to a monthly beauty box called Ipsy and this is where I discovered my new-found form of coffee love! In one of my boxes came The Coffee Scrub. I opened the package and the scent was absolutely delicious. I couldn’t wait to indulge my skin in the shower.

Enjoy a revitalizing shower experience!

First, you wet your skin and use about two handfuls to cover your body. Massage the scrub in circular motions, and concentrate on problem areas such as elbows, feet, or knees. Oh. My. Goodness. This scrub is amazing! I think I could actually feel renewed skin coming to the surface as this scrub sloughed away my dead skin cells and drenched me in the scent of French Vanilla Coffee. When I finally emerged from my coffee scented wonderland my skin felt soft, fresh, and revitalized. I paired it with one of my favorite vanilla lotions.

The Coffee Scrub website informs it’s users that the antioxidants found in coffee, such as caffeine can help with stretch marks, acne, and dead skin cells. This product is also organic, vegan, and cruelty free. That’s a winner in my cup!

My overall take: Make sure your shower has a removable shower head. You’re going to need it to rinse the mess it makes. Make sure you love the scent of coffee and only use if you want smooth, revitalized skin! Downside, you may not want to get out of the shower.

If you love coffee like I do; then definitely give The Coffee Scrub a whirl!
