Smart Strategies To Overcome the Empty Shelves

In the wake of impending doom…all the toilet paper is gone! Can you believe it? I am just floored by the fact that this virus fear has led people to do some interesting things, like buy all the toilet paper.

People aren’t buying up all the food, extra water, etc. They are buying cleaning products and toilet paper. I mean, what is the reason for this? I just don’t see it. I get it, if you get the virus you want to keep everything clean. If you are quarantined into your home to prevent the virus…you don’t need all that but you will need the food.

It is just entertaining to me how fear works. People do not fear driving down the road, yet there are more deaths due to automobiles than this virus…

Anyways, what can you use instead of toilet paper since there aren’t any in the stores? Paper towels are still on the shelves, so are baby wipes, flushable wipes, etc. Another option is wash cloths, rags, old t-shirts cut up. Yes, that means another load of laundry but you will get by without toilet paper!

Now, how to get by without cleaning wipes. White vinegar with a squirt of Dawn dish soap and a few drops of citrus essential oils. You can add this liquid mixture into a spray bottle or straight onto a roll of paper towels cut in half or a small stack of wash cloths in a bowl with a lid. That will clean just about anything for you. If you really want to disinfect, add a few drops of tea tree essential oil as well.

Hand sanitizers are another thing that is flying off the shelves. If you know anything about viruses, hand sanitizers really don’t do any good. Good old simple soap and water is so much better to use. Forget about the hand sanitizers and get the soap. If the soap starts to run out, get some liquid castile soap from Amazon. Those are currently in stock.

Y’all, don’t get me started on the face masks. If you have children, this isn’t even a practical option. Kids will not keep them on and if they do, they are likely not going to seal properly to protect them. If one member of your family goes out in public and doesn’t have one on or on properly, it probably isn’t going to matter. It only takes 1, yes 1 particle in the air to spread virus. Now, if the person who has the virus goes out in public, which they aren’t supposed to, they should be wearing a mask. This would prevent the particles from getting into the air for you to breathe it in.

What are your thoughts about this ordeal? Are you worried? What are your tips for getting around the items that aren’t available right now?
